RELEASE: Skunk Anansie are back with new record ‘The Painful Truth’ and a captivating single, 'Lost and Found'

April 7, 2025

British rock legends Skunk Anansie have made a triumphant return, announcing their forthcoming album, The Painful Truth, set to release on May 23rd, 2025 via FLG Records. Accompanying this exciting news is the drop of their brand-new single, Lost and Found, a soul-stirring track showcasing their signature fusion of beauty and drama.

Premiering on BBC 6 Music's Steve Lamacq Show, Lost and Found opens with Skin’s haunting vocals over a staccato piano motif, delivering a poignant message of loneliness and desperation. Directed by Skin, the visually stunning music video explores a duality of personalities, captured in reverse storytelling, making it as impactful as the song itself.

Skin reflects on the song: "We wanted to evoke the loneliness and desperation that can occur in a split second by one tiny mistake. Any of us at any time can lose the security built up over a lifetime whether it be via an accident, or a sudden twist of fate."

Skunk Anansie's eighth studio album The Painful Truth promises to be their most provocative and emotional project yet. A culmination of raw introspection and fresh ambition, the album features the standout single An Artist Is An Artist, and the euphoric Cheers. Produced by David Sitek (TV On The Radio), it captures the band’s rediscovery and creative resurgence.

The Painful Truth tracklisting

1. An Artist Is An Artist
2. This Is Not Your Life
3. Shame
4. Lost And Found

Live Review: Good Neighbours – Exeter Cavern 2/4/25

April 3, 2025

Tonight marked the official launch of Good Neighbours’ "Adolescence" tour—an audacious move for a band that is choosing intimacy over mass appeal. With the small, atmospheric Cavern in Exeter (220 capacity) as their starting point, Oli Fox and Scott Verrill, the London duo behind Good Neighbours, set out to remind us why live music still matters. The venue, nestled amidst a cluster of eateries and bars (where a beer plus vodka and coke comes in at an astonishingly reasonable £9.90), has hosted legends from Coldplay and Muse to Bastille and The 1975, yet tonight it was all about the sparkle of emerging talent.
