STREAM ‘KIND OF ACOUSTIC’ IN FULL NOW HERE
A refreshing new take on some of their finest cuts to date, the Essex four-piece have transformed 12 of their favourite tracks into earthy, acoustic, new guises.
Decamping to the tiny Welsh village of Borth, the band worked with producer Mike West, where they spent four frantic days reworking favourites from their repertoire to date them and performing them live in the village’s deconsecrated church, Our Lady Studio.
Receiving early praise from PUNKTASTIC, the mag has championed the innovative reworkings as “giving the space to unwrap the bandages around their inner wounds to make the depths of their sound more visible is a thing of grimy beauty. ‘Kind Of Acoustic’ captures the zeitgeist in twelve bursts of rowdy introspection that burn all the brighter in its more diminished form.” While in an 8.5/10 review, Liverpool Sound & Vision enthused: “Pet Needs triumph with demonstrative prejudice of cool, the image of them raising Hell in the deconsecrated church is palpable, exotic, colourful, insanely cool.”
Alongside acoustically rewired lead singles ‘The Burning Building’ and ‘Punk Isn’t Dead (It’s Just Up For Sale)’, the other ten tracks on offer here include singles (“Get On The Roof”, “Ibiza In Winter”, “Fear For The Whole Damn World”), plus a smorgasbord of fan (and band) picks from their debut “Fractured Party Music”, fiery follow-up “Primetime Entertainment”, and Official Top 20 Album ‘Intermittent Fast Living’. ‘Kind of Acoustic’ is streaming on all major services now (released via Xtra Mile Recordings): https://orcd.co/petneedskindofacoustic
