Fresh from a dream come true show at Reading Festival performing on the Festival Republic stage Only The Poets resumed their UK tour tonight at Bristol’s iconic independent venue The Fleece. This was my second OTP show catching them last Halloween in one of Bristol's smaller but just as prestigious venue, The Lousiana. The crowd that night was made up of passionate fans who had got in early to stake their claim for the front row. Tonight was no different, except this time VIP fans were treated to a Q&A and to enjoy the Soundcheck. This is the kind of thing that not many bands do these days, but makes all the difference, making the fans feel valued, bridging the gap between them and the band.

Disorientations is a post-punk band from Antwerp, Belgium, composed of lifelong friends Lukas Van Camp on bass, Tomas Serrien on drums and Niels Elsermans on vocals and guitar. The moniker came to exist while jamming endlessly as a way to process shared loss experiences.

The beginnings’ of The Pirate Album’s were unusual. Whilst working on his film compositions, Will Bates rented a fifteen foot long balafon (gourd-resonated xylophone) without consulting the director. His close friend and renowned percussionist Mathias Kunzli jumped to lend his hand to some of Will’s sketches, along with six other balafons, for a blossoming film project. All was going well. However, when the director and Will then met at the studio, he was neither impressed nor amused.
