Oxford quartet Low Island release new single ‘Feel Young Again’ today, and with it announce their highly anticipated debut album ‘If You Could Have It All Again’ for April 16th

‘Feel Young Again’ is a quintessential example of the sophisticated indie-pop with which Low Island have started turning heads across the board, taking cues equally from RadioheadGlass AnimalsCaribouTalking Heads and TV on the Radio.

The icy production and precise instrumentation contrast powerfully with an underlying emotional warmth, and the easy, infectious groove. Ushered in by Carlos Posada’s honeyed falsetto, the track lifts off with the early first chorus - and quickly settles into an invigorating march.

Carlos elaborates on the specific themes:

"Feel Young Again is about a toxic relationship; not with a person, but with a part of yourself that you need to let go of. A part of yourself that is doing you harm but because of familiarity and a fear of change, you can’t give it up. It’s about taking that thing, feeling or frame of mind for one last dance before finally letting it go.”

The aforementioned acclaim is spread across mediums. At press, indie titles (NMEDIY), breaking culture zines (CRACKClash) and broadsheets (The IndependentThe Times) alike have championed. On the airwaves Huw StephensGreg James and Phil Taggart at BBC Radio 1 and Lauren Laverne and Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music are fans.

Live the band have gone from strength to strength also, selling out London’s Scala as well as regional shows around the UK, supporting Crystal Fighters at London’s Brixton Academy and across Europe, and making festival appearances at GlastonburyReading and LeedsPrimaveraLollapalooza Berlin and Latitude

The band have also experienced the boost of having previous album single ‘Don’t Let The Light In’ feature in the vaunted FIFA 2021 soundtrack, as well as both Peter Gabriel and Phil Selway (Radiohead) adding their respected voices to the chorus of approval.

The support built up so far has resulted in around 7 million streams across platforms before an album has been released. Highlights including support from Spotify on New Music Friday UKThe Indie ListIndie Palace and Peach. Additionally, Amazon Music chose 'Don’t Let The Light In' as one of their Best Songs of 2020.

It’s a resolutely DIY affair, with the band self-producing and self-releasing all their music so far on their label Emotional Interference, and manifesting their own success.

Low Island are Carlos Posada (vocals/multi-instrumentalist), Jamie Jay (Backing vocals/multi-instrumentalist/producer,) Jacob Lively (Bass player, electric and synth bass) and Felix Higginbottom (Percussion/Drums).
